Three of the Most Insidious Signs and Symptoms of Fibroids
Although uterine fibroids are asymptomatic in the vast majority of cases, they can cause some pretty insidious problems depending on their size and location. Here are just a few of the most extreme signs and symptoms of fibroids.
Heavy Menstrual Bleeding.
Prolonged menstrual bleeding is one of the most common signs and symptoms of fibroids. Sometimes, the bleeding can get so extreme that women will find their sanitary protection soaked through in as little time as an hour, and are even unable to leave their homes when their flow is heaviest. Some women will even develop anemia as a result of the heavy bleeding.
Bathroom Issues.
Fibroids can even cause bathroom difficulties, as bladder issues and rectal pressure are two signs and symptoms of fibroids. Some women suffering from fibroids will find that they wake up several times in the night with the urge to urinate. Occasionally, they may not be able to, despite having a full bladder. Other times, fibroids may press press against women’s rectums, causing the feeling of fullness but preventing them from being able to have bowel movements.
Pain During Intercourse.
Perhaps the most pressing of the various signs and symptoms of fibroids is pain during intercourse. Any woman experiencing this should seek out medical attention as soon as possible. The pain may only occur during certain points in the menstrual cycle, or only in certain positions, but is still a significant issue.
If you believe you may be suffering any of these symptoms of fibroid cysts, then you need to schedule an appointment with your doctor whether you are suffering from fibroids, and if so, which uterine fibroids treatment options may work best for you.
