There’s a Supplement for Just About Everyone
Since the days of the 1940s in the United States, men, women, and children have been relying on supplements of many kinds to improve their overall health. These multivitamin/mineral supplements, or MVMs, have been used to improve metabolic health, for hormonal support, menopause support, prostate cellular health, and to improve many other health related conditions.
To this day, MVMs are extremely popular dietary supplements with an estimated 33% of Americans taking them on a daily basis. Hormone supplements and hormone support supplements, for example, have been trusted to keep a natural balance of hormones when the absence of these supplements could lead to seriously dire conditions for individuals who need the support they provide.
The broad medical community promotes the use of MVMs, with, specifically, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommending vitamin D supplements to newborns who are being breastfed until the babies are weaned.
But it is not only newborn babies who need additional vitamins in their diets. According to the Institute of Medicine, adolescents need to get 1,300 milligrams of calcium every day. Using supplements daily has been a decisive factor in the good health of many throughout the last 75 or so years.
As the medical community has progressed and science has expanded its reach, it has become clear that it is more difficult in our modern world to get all of the vitamins and minerals we need on a daily basis from only the foods we eat. That is why MVMs still sell in staggering quantities.
More than giving us the regular vitamins we need, however, some supplements have been formulated to bolster our body’s ability to produce things such as antioxidants and hormones. Hormone supplements help to naturally balance hormones such as estrogen, testosterone, adrenaline, and insulin. These hormones are critically important chemical messengers that affect overall health in many different ways. The best hormone supplements bring our bodies into alignment with just a few simple pills per day.
There are many factors surrounding hormone imbalances. They are often caused by a combination of several different factors which include diet, basic genetics, an individual’s medical history, exposure to toxins, and even stress levels.
With the proper hormone supplements, individuals can improve their thyroid function, lower their cholesterol, reduce stress and anxiety levels, in some cases reduce brain cell degeneration, stabilize problem blood sugar levels, and even reduce depression.
It has been almost 80 years since MVMs were introduced to the American people and like most other things that were brought to us during and after World War II, we have taken them and run with them. As the scientific community continues to have breakthroughs on how the human body behaves and operates, MVMs will continue to be a way in which people will try to keep themselves healthy.
Americans love the latest scientific discoveries when it comes to our health. Having more energy and healthy skin is a desire, and longer life might just be a bonus, as well.
